We are Chapter 563 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), located at the Mt. Hawley Airport (3MY) in Peoria, Illinois. Whether you build them, fly them, own them, or simply enjoy chatting about them, you'll fit right in here! Chartered in 1976, we have a long-standing reputation for promoting aviation education and fostering community. From our semi-monthly pancake breakfasts to our numerous youth programs, we're dedicated to sharing the passion for flight with the next generation. We meet often to share stories, technical knowledge, and our love for all things aviation; we'd love to have you join us!

Our most recent newsletter is the August issue. Highlights include a detailed, first-hand recap of the tale of Airventure 2026 (including plenty of airplane pictures, of course!) Learn of one chapter member's chance encounter with the man behind the Polar Pumpkin aircraft and his unique mission. Ray Scholar Charlie McKee knocked out his night flying requirements and is gearing up for his written exam. The Cruzer's avionics are finely buttoned up, with the engine running smoothly. We also discuss the tips and tricks behind lowering stall speed in wing design.
